X Ambassadors “VHS 2.0” has Dropped with 5 Great new Songs

Apparently re-releasing your album is going to be a tradition at KIDinaKORNER Records, as label-mate Imagine Dragons did with their Billboard 200 topper “Smoke + Mirrors”. “VHS 2.0” comes with the standard debut LP and 5 new, diverse tracks.

LOW LIFE 2.0 – EMS: C+

Same old, same old. Low Life 2.0 is the exact same besides the inclusion of a lackluster rap verse by A$AP Ferg, but for fans and rap followers, this song is still as triumphant as the previous version.

KEROSENE DREAMS – EMS: B

Something also standard with KIDinaKORNER songs is it’s lukewarm sound quality and mixing, as Kerosene Dreams demonstrates. Catchy and atmospheric, this song has everything to “burn bright” as it’s lyrics suggest, but static and poor mixing leaves it just another bonus track.

COLLIDER (FEAT. TOM MORELLO) – EMS: B+

Along with Kerosene Dreams, this track was previously unreleased. While wacky in its first listening, the song heats up after a few repeats and sounds like a worthy sequel to Jungle.

GORGEOUS (LIVE UPSTATE SESSIONS) – EMS: B

The original Gorgeous is, well, gorgeous, and this live version is no different. Despite losing its electro-infused sound, this acoustic version makes up for it with lead singer Sam Harris’s potent vocals and a soothing melody.

EYE OF THE STORM – EMS: A

This song has been around for awhile, but now that it has made its way onto Spotify, millions can discover what XA fans have loved and adored for ages. Eye of the Storm is hauntingly surreal and would fit perfectly in any moment too dramatic to be reality.
